Abdominal epilepsy is an extremely rare, chronic (ongoing) condition that causes recurrent seizures that are not the result of another medical condition. The seizures can happen in the stomach and intestines and are more likely to occur in children than adults.
What are the signs and symptoms of Pediatric Abdominal Epilepsy?
Abdominal epilepsy affects the digestive system. Symptoms include:
- Confusion during or after a seizure
- Convulsions
- Cramps in the abdomen
- Fatigue (extreme tiredness) after seizures
- Nausea or vomiting
- Sharp abdominal pain
- Unresponsiveness during seizures
What are the causes of Pediatric Abdominal Epilepsy?
There is no known cause of abdominal epilepsy.
