Extreme Cold Weather Update
North Texas continues to experience winter weather conditions. Due to lingering icy roads in some areas, some Children’s Health℠ locations are operating on adjusted schedules on Tuesday, Jan. 27. Normal operations will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
Adjusted operations
Tuesday, Jan. 27
Outpatient clinics: All Children’s Health outpatient clinics are closed for in-person appointments. Appointments will be held virtually or rescheduled.
Primary care clinics: All Children’s Health primary care clinics will have a delayed opening at 10 a.m. for in-person appointments.
Surgery centers: Dallas and Plano surgery centers will open on a delayed schedule, with procedures beginning at 9 a.m.
Normal operations
Hospitals: Children’s Medical Center Dallas and Children’s Medical Center Plano remain open for inpatient care, including emergency rooms and hospital-based clinics such as the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and End-Stage Renal Disease clinics.
Normal operations resume Wednesday, Jan. 28
All Children’s Health clinics, hospitals and locations will open at their normal times on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
Team members, patients and families who are coming onsite are encouraged to take extra care when traveling, as roads may still be icy in some areas.
Our Emergency Management Program continues to monitor the National Weather Service updates and will share information if conditions begin to impact operations again.
