As an integral part of the patient care team, our pharmacists serve in a variety of practice areas including:

As specialists in pediatric medication therapy management and pediatric drug compounding, pharmacists utilize automated drug dispensing systems, pharmacy robotics, point-of-care drug administration and documentation, CPOE and bar-coding technology from pharmacy to bedside. In addition, pharmacists at Children’s Health are involved in research, education and performance improvement.
Wellness and support
Children’s Health provides a supportive and encouraging environment to complete pharmacy residency training. At the organizational level, Children’s Health offers an Employee Assistance Program for free access to emotional, financial, legal and personal support. In addition, Children’s Health has created several collaborative employee work groups, all committed to advancing diversity and creating an equitable and inclusive workplace.
Within the pharmacy department, residents are supported by over 30 highly qualified preceptors who precept learning experiences and serve as mentors via a formal mentorship program. The Pharmacy Residency Wellness Committee promotes the wellbeing of both residents and preceptors with events throughout the year. Additionally, all residents are assigned project mentors for their longitudinal research project.
