
Pharmacy Residency
Children’s Health℠ Children’s Medical Center Dallas is private, not-for-profit, and is one of the largest pediatric health care providers in the nation. As the only academic health care facility in North Texas dedicated exclusively to the comprehensive care of children from birth to age 18, Children’s provides patient care ranging from simple eye exams to specialized treatment in areas such as heart disease, hematology-oncology and cystic fibrosis. In addition, Children’s Health is a major pediatric kidney, liver, intestine, heart and bone marrow transplant center. As the primary pediatric teaching facility for The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, the medical staff at Children’s Health conducts research that is instrumental in developing treatments, therapies and greater understanding of pediatric diseases. Children’s Health is licensed for 562 beds and has more than 50 subspecialty programs. The hospital is the only designated Level I trauma center for pediatrics in North Texas.

The Children’s Medical Center Pharmacy leads the nation in the development, application and utilization of technology and pharmacy automation to provide the best and safest care to our patients and their families. As an integral part of the patient care team, the pharmacists at Children’s Medical Center offer a variety of practice areas, including:
- Inpatient services
- Ambulatory services
- Emergency Department
- Critical care
- NICU
- Hematology-oncology
- Outpatient Pharmacy
In addition, the Children’s Medical Center Pharmacy provides support services, including research, education and performance improvement. As specialists in pediatric medication therapy management and pediatric drug compounding, all pharmacists utilize automated drug dispensing systems, pharmacy robotics, point-of-care drug administration and documentation, CPOE and bar coding technology from pharmacy to bedside.
