Christopher J. Durovich Administrative Fellowship

Developing aspiring leaders is essential to Children’s Health’s mission to make life better for children. The Administrative Fellowship program provides motivated health care professionals with Executive mentorship and unique exposure to Children’s Health’s rapid growth and strategic innovation.
The Fellowship is an immersive 12-month training program for Master’s level aspiring health care professionals. Fellows gain comprehensive exposure to hospital leadership and operations through project work and observational rotations.
For the first 6 months, Administrative Fellows complete Department Rotations in clinical and nonclinical areas, followed by a 6-month Elective Rotation based on their areas of interest. Department Rotations include but are not limited to the Plano Market, Dallas Market, Ambulatory, Finance, Strategy, Physician Operations, Nursing, Legal and Compliance, Human Resources, The Foundation, Planning Design & Construction, and Corporate Services.
Fellows also receive mentorship from the Children’s Health Executive Leadership Team, including the Dallas Market President, Northern Market President, Executive Vice President Dallas Market Operations, Executive Vice President Chief Nursing Officer, and Executive Vice President of Corporate Services.
Administrative Fellows are full-time Children’s Health employees and receive competitive annual compensation with benefits and a relocation stipend. Additionally, the program provides transportation, food, and registration for a national conference during the Fellowship.

- Analyzing outpatient space utilization
- Establishing COVID-19 specialty testing site
- Developing Northern Market clinical dashboards
- Improving process for Pediatric Heart Specialists referral management
- Planning and developing of Fetal Center Program
- Assigning efforts to integrate imaging between the Joint Pediatric Alliance
- Transitioning to a recycling organization
- Analyzing Measurement Based Care data

Eustolia Dorado, RN, 2023 January Administrative Fellow
Eustolia Dorado serves as an Administrative Fellow in the 2023 January cohort at Children’s Health.
She has been with Children’s Health since 2016 and has served in different roles throughout her career. Eustolia spent four years working as a Registered Nurse for Children’s Health Pediatric Group. She also spent three years in Occupational Health & Wellness where she served as a staff nurse, team leader and manager for the department. Eustolia played a pivotal role in the development and implementation process of the COVID-19 call center at Children’s Health. Eustolia is passionate about improving health outcomes for underserved communities and is excited to continue her career at Children’s Health.
Eustolia attended Dallas Nursing Institute, where she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing. She graduated from Western Governors University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management and is expected to graduate in December 2023.
Nathan Jones, 2023 January Administrative Fellow
Nathan Jones serves as an Administrative Fellow in the 2023 January cohort at Children’s Health.
Prior to joining Children’s Health, Nathan gained a couple of years of clinical exposure as a Med/Surg Patient Care Technician at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital. However, Nathan found his calling in leadership after co-founding a student organization that would go on to transform shipping containers into mobile medical clinics to help serve the underserved overseas.
Nathan attended Baylor University, where he earned his B.S. in Biology with a minor in Sociology. He is currently enrolled at Trinity University for his Master’s in Healthcare Administration and is expected to graduate in December 2023.
Rudolph Jackson, 2023 January Administrative Fellow
Rudolph “Trey” Jackson, MHA serves as an Administrative Fellow in the 2023 January cohort at Children’s Health.
Before Joining Children’s, Trey held roles as a Bundled Payment Associate and a Practice Administrator for an orthopedic clinic. At Texas State, Trey served as the Program Director of the MAP-Med Rides Program, where they provided free transportation to and from medical appointments for the elderly and indigent population of San Marcos, Texas.
Trey was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended Mid-America Christian University to obtain his Bachelor’s in Business Administration and ethics. Following his undergraduate studies Trey Attended Texas State University Where he obtained his Master’s in Healthcare Administration in May of 2021.At Texas State. Now at Children’s, Trey is looking forward to carrying out Children’s mission to “Make life better for children”.
Marissa Smith, RN, 2023 January Administrative Fellow
Marissa Smith serves as an Administrative Fellow in the 2023 January cohort at Children’s Health.
Marissa began her nursing career in the pediatric intensive care unit before transitioning to the operating room. Before joining the Fellowship, she was a team leader in the operating room at Children’s Health. She is a certified perioperative nurse, a member of AORN, and has held multiple leadership positions within the perioperative arena.
Marissa is originally from Oklahoma City, OK, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oklahoma City University, and her Master of Business Administration in healthcare from Southern Nazarene University.

U.D. Igwe, 2023 July Administrative Fellow
U.D. Igwe serves as an Administrative Fellow in the 2022 July cohort at Children’s Health.
He is a native of Louisville, KY and earned his B.S. in Public Health with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Louisville. He is currently working towards attaining his MSHA degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Prior to joining Children’s Health, U.D. has held roles at various academic health systems and philanthropic organizations. Driven by his passion for improving the health outcomes of those belonging to marginalized and underserved communities, he continuously advocates for the optimization and improvement of care delivery across the care continuum and creating more points of access for patients to receive healthcare services.
Jabari Robinson, 2023 July Administrative Fellow
Jabari Robinson serves as an Administrative Fellow in the 2022 July cohort at Children’s Health.
He is a native of Toney, Alabama and earned his Bachelor of Science in Professional Health Sciences with a concentration in Healthcare Management from the University of South Alabama. He is currently working to attain his Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he is expected to graduate in April of 2023.
Prior to Children’s, Jabari worked at the Birmingham VA Health Care system on the Quality and Safety team. He developed a budget database template, facilitated a Medical Center space initiative, and developed and renewed policies and procedures to provide the highest level of care to our nation's veterans.
While at Children’s he has helped with operational data and critical staffing initiatives. In his role as Administrative Fellow, Jabari continues to be driven by his passion for pediatric healthcare and the continued expansion of access to high level care to all children.
Laura Catherine (LC) Vaughn, 2023 July Administrative Fellow
Laura Catherine (LC) Vaughn serves as an Administrative Fellow in the 2022 July cohort at Children’s Health.
LC was adopted from Ivanovo, Russia and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She earned her B.A. in Management and Healthcare Analytics from the University of Alabama and is currently obtaining her MSHA from The University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB).
She advocates for kind, creative, and data-driven healthcare sustained through robust SDOH initiatives, proactive mental health integration, and comprehensive community outreach. As a future-focused individual, she believes integrated behavioral health will positively influence how health systems prioritize patient care continuum and leverage value-based care.
During her time at Children’s, she has been involved in the Sustainability Program, Process Improvement Projects, and the Behavioral Health Integration and Guidance Program.
Brittney Ward, 2023 July Administrative Fellow
Brittney Ward serves as an Administrative Fellow in the 2022 July cohort at Children’s Health.
Originally from Chicago, IL, Brittney earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Tuskegee University and is currently obtaining her MSHA from The University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB).
Prior to joining Children’s, Brittney completed an internship at the Birmingham VA Medical Center in the Engineering and Women’s Health Department where she helped develop an outreach program to increase outreach and volume.
Brittney is humble and thankful to join Children’s Health and their mission to “Make life better for children”. During her time at Children’s, she has assisted with multiple analyses for both outpatient and inpatient operations.

Jordan Pitts, 2022 January Administrative Fellow
Jordan Pitts serves as a Program Coordinator of Operational and Strategic Planning in the Emergency Department at Children’s Health Medical Center Dallas. His role focuses on the operational development and implementation of quality metrics, strategic goals, and performance improvement initiatives.
Jordan began his time at Children’s Health as an Administrative Fellow in 2022. During his Fellowship, he shadowed and received exposure to the different departments and leaders of Children’s Health. In that time, he worked on projects that included operational data collection, outpatient and inpatient operations, space planning and surgery scheduling metrics.
Jordan attended Trinity University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He received his Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in December 2022.
Katie Kuri, 2022 January Administrative Fellow
Katie Kuri works in Maternal-Child Program Development as a Program Coordinator of Operational and Strategic Planning at Children’s Health. Her role focuses on the strategic development and implementation of comprehensive Maternal-Child Program initiatives, which encompass neonatology, maternal fetal medicine, obstetrics and fetal care.
Katie started at Children’s Health as an Administrative Fellow in 2022. During her Fellowship, she completed projects in several areas including outpatient operations, strategy, program development, space planning and sustainability.
Prior to joining Children’s Health, Katie worked at Boston Children’s Hospital, where she helped connect children throughout the Boston metroplex to health care resources and education in their communities. Her passion for nonprofit pediatric healthcare also led to her working for an organization that provides medical services to special needs children in the San Antonio area.
Katie attended Boston College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Communication. She received her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in December 2022.
Vianey Romo, 2022 January Administrative Fellow
Vianey Romo, MSHCM serves as a Program Manager where her responsibilities include planning, programming, and implementing cross-functional enterprise initiatives.
Vianey began her career at Children’s Health as an Administrative Fellow in 2022 where she devoted her time to Ambulatory and Outpatient Operations. Her projects focused on operational and strategic analysis, patient and employee experience, and program development. In 2023, Vianey was featured in the “Leaders of the Year” magazine for the National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives.
Prior to joining Children’s Health, Vianey spent almost five years working as the Workforce Coordinator at the Medical Center of the Americas Foundation (MCA), a not-for-profit organization in the Paso del Norte Region. She led the STEM Innovation Lab and other outreach efforts to foster the awareness of the life sciences industry to the K-12 education pipeline.
Vianey earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a Biomedical concentration from the University of Texas at El Paso and her Master of Science in Healthcare Management from Johns Hopkins University Carey School of Business.

The John and Susie Adams Excellence Endowment
The John and Susie Adams Excellence Endowment was graciously established in 2020 to support the Administrative Fellowship program in honor of their beloved friend and Children’s Health System Chief Executive Officer, Christopher J. Durovich.
Established in 2005, the Fellowship program was created to provide in-depth and hands on experience for students pursuing a Master of Business Administration or Master of Healthcare Administration degree. This endowment will strengthen the ongoing training and development of future healthcare administrative leaders. The Adams’ generosity will positively impact the lives of children for generations to come.
