Around-the-clock care for pediatric neurological issues
Whether your child is a current neurosurgery patient or a new one, you can see us any time, any day. We offer access to doctors who specialize in children’s neurosurgery. (At some other hospitals, you may instead first meet with a nurse practitioner or general physician.) We’re dedicated to always making sure you get the expert-level answers and care you need, whenever you need them. Whether it’s an emergency appointment in the middle of the night, or a regular clinic appointment during the day, our neurosurgery program is here for you.
Comprehensive neurosurgical care, under one roof
We are the only pediatric neurosurgery program in North Texas that offers microsurgery, endoscopy, Gamma Knife® radiosurgery, MRI-guided laser ablation, endovascular neurosurgery and minimally invasive skull base surgery – all in one location. Offering these innovative techniques means that we can do everything possible to help your child, while keeping the risk of complications and side effects to an absolute minimum.
Having all our pediatric neurosurgeons, and all the treatments they offer, at a single location makes it easy and convenient for your child to get the care they need. This gives you more time to focus on your child’s health and treatment.
Renowned pediatric specialists
When you come to Children's Health, your child will be treated by some of the nation’s top experts in pediatric neurosurgery. All of our providers – from our surgeons to our neuroscience nurses to our neuro-radiologists and neuro-anesthesiologists – have advanced training in a wide range of pediatric neurological issues. This means your child will get the very best care available, no matter what neurological issue they’re facing.
Care beyond age 18
Thanks to our partnership with UT Southwestern Medical Center you will never have to ask yourself: “What's going to happen to my child when they’re too old to come to Children's Health?" We can help your child transition to care at UT Southwestern or any other health care system when they become young adults. We have a process to prepare you and your child for care in the adult world, which begins around ages 12 to 14. We work with you and your child to ensure that their unique needs will be met as they move to adult care. Our aim is to prevent any gaps in your child’s healthcare services. No other hospital in North Texas has a program like this.
