Biography
Brett Whittemore, M.D., is a board certified Pediatric Neurosurgeon at Children’s Health and an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery in the Department of Neurological Surgery at UT Southwestern.
Dr. Whittemore specializes in treating pediatric brain tumors and endoscopic skull-based surgery. He also has expertise in spinal surgery and hydrocephalus. His philosophy is to deliver compassionate care using the most advanced techniques.
Dr. Whittemore earned his medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his residency in neurological surgery at UT Southwestern and completed fellowship training in pediatric neurosurgery at UT Southwestern/Children’s Medical Center Dallas.
Before becoming a doctor, Dr. Whittemore studied computer science and earned a Masters of Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He now uses his engineering background in research on the mechanisms of water flow in the brain that cause hydrocephalus.
