Biography
David E. Fixler, M.D., is a board certified pediatric cardiologist at Children’s Health℠ and a Professor of pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
After receiving his medical degree from the University of Chicago, Dr. Fixler completed his cardiology fellowship at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago and postdoctoral research at the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the University of California, San Francisco. He also holds a master’s degree in epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Dr. Fixler’s clinical interests include hypertension, Kawasaki disease and the epidemiology of congenital heart defects.
Dr. Fixler is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the American Society of Transplantation, the International Society and Federation of Cardiology, the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, and the Society for Pediatric Research.
Dr. Fixler holds the Dr. Fred S. Brooksaler Professorship in Pediatrics.
