Using research to improve pediatric concussion care
With UT Southwestern, we’re involved in research on how to improve concussion care and help kids recover faster. Innovation is always at the forefront of our program. This means your child will receive the safest, most advanced treatments available.
We also work with organizations and community programs throughout the region to provide concussion education. This helps families across our region better understand concussions and when to get care for their child.
Helping kids get back to regular life – safely
Families usually need help and guidance about how and when kids can safely get back to their usual activities after a concussion. Our nurse coordinator and clinical team will work closely with your child’s school, sports teams and extracurricular programs. We help them understand your child’s condition and their recovery plan. This collaborative approach makes sure that everyone is involved and understands what your child needs.
Children’s Health℠ treats more kids with concussions than any other hospital in North Texas. Our program brings together a team of expert providers who have dedicated their careers to understanding, diagnosing and treating concussions and other pediatric neurological issues. This team approach means we will evaluate your child from every angle and develop a care plan that’s tailored to their exact needs. Our goal is to do all we can to help your child fully recover and safely return to school, sports and other activities.
