Executive Medical Director, Medical Affairs

Tom Zellers, M.D., serves as Executive Medical Director, Medical Affairs. In this role, Dr. Zellers is responsible for accreditation and medical staff compliance, credentialing and privileging, medical and dental staff governance and quality assessment, medical and dental staff continuing medical education, and some aspects of graduate medical education.

Dr. Zellers is a highly acclaimed pediatric physician with expertise in pediatric interventional cardiology. He has been at Children’s Health℠ and UT Southwestern since 1989. Dr. Zellers is currently a professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern.

Dr. Zellers holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Dallas. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from UT Southwestern Medical Center. He earned a certification in medical management from UT Dallas and UT Southwestern Medical Center and a certification in hospital leadership from the Texas Hospital Association.
