Biography
Jennie Blakely Jones, RN, MSN, CPNP, is a pediatric nurse practitioner at Children’s Health℠ who cares for children with conditions that affect their ears, nose or throat.
In 2003, she completed her Bachelor of Science in nursing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing. She then earned her Master of Science in nursing from the University of Texas in 2009. Then earned her certificate in acute care from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2015.
At Children’s Health, Jones evaluates and treats patients for a wide range of conditions, including breathing problems; swallowing disorders; chronic ear infections; cleft lip and palate; craniofacial anomalies; head and neck lumps; language delay; sinusitis; and tonsillitis. She educates patients and families about their conditions.
Jones is also experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of children with bleeding disorders, thrombosis and sickle cell anemia. She is skilled in the care of patients who develop acute reactions during blood transfusions and IV medication infusions
Jones is dual certified as an acute/primary care pediatric nurse practitioner through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She is also certified in pediatric advanced life support through the American Heart Association.
Professional service is important to Jones. She has given presentations to professional groups on many topics related to bleeding disorders. She is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and the National Hemophilia Foundation.
