Children with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) often have elevated androgen levels, which accelerate bone maturation and diminish patients’ adult height. Traditional glucocorticoid treatment, including hydrocortisone, controls androgen levels but can slow growth and decrease adult stature as well. Researchers at Children’s Health and UT Southwestern are working to change the game.
