Biography

Brian Gutknecht, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant specializing in pediatric orthopedic trauma at the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine at Children's Health℠. He has more than 25 years of experience caring for patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.

“One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is helping children and adolescents recover from injuries and return to the activities they enjoy,” Gutknecht says. “I’m passionate about helping children to understand their injuries and take an active role in their treatment and recovery by providing education, support and compassionate care every step of the way.”

Gutknecht completed his physician assistant education at the Rutgers - UMDNJ School of Health Related Professions.  He has a special interest in pediatric fracture care and treats children and adolescents with fractures, growth plate injuries, sports injuries, as well as bone, joint and muscle infections. His expertise includes fracture reduction, orthopedic casting and splinting, and caring for patients who need surgical treatment for their injuries.

Outside of work, Gutknecht enjoys spending time with his wife and family. As the father of three athletes, he spends much of his free time at wrestling tournaments, hockey rinks and soccer fields. He also enjoys watching professional and college sports and spending time with friends and extended family.
