Biography

Teriann Scheets, Au.D., is a certified audiologist who provides diagnostic assessments and treatment to infants, children and adults who experience hearing loss and balance conditions.

Audiologists specialize in caring for conditions that affect hearing and balance. They use tests to diagnose and treat these problems using techniques such as hearing aids, balance therapy or hearing rehabilitation. They also work closely with ear, nose and throat physicians (otolaryngologists) to care for the medical causes of hearing problems

Dr. Scheets earned her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and a Master of Science in communication disorders from University of Texas Dallas. She earned her doctorate of audiology from A.T. Still University Arizona School of Health Sciences. She is a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology. She is also a faculty associate in the Otolaryngology and Audiology Departments at UT Southwestern.

Dr. Scheets is the program coordinator for the Infant Hearing Screening program at Children’s Health℠. As coordinator of this program, she ensures all infants are evaluated for hearing problems so they can undergo early assessment and treatment. She is passionate about helping her patients gain the support they need for healthy development.
