Biography

Neethu Muppadhyil Mathew, M.D., is a primary care physician board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. She cares for children and families at Children’s Health℠ – Wylie and is passionate about caring for the whole child –their physical, mental, social, and spiritual needs.

Dr. Mathew enjoys working with parents and helping them navigate the healthy development of their children, from what they’ve observed, what they can expect and how to nurture their future needs. Dr. Mathew received her Bachelor of Arts in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. She earned her medical degree from Rush Medical College and completed her pediatric residency at Loyola University Medical Center. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Having gone through a complicated pregnancy and delivering preemie twins who were in the NICU has helped me tremendously when working with parents. I understand their hopes, expectations, and fears about their children.

“Having gone through a complicated pregnancy and delivering preemie twins who were in the NICU has helped me tremendously when working with parents. I understand their hopes, expectations, and fears about their children.” Dr. Mathew says she likes spending a great deal of clinical time on guidance and how to navigate challenging behaviors at school and at home, utilizing educational services and outside therapies.

Dr. Mathew was born in southern India and grew up in Colorado. She is fluent in Malayalam. She has been a resident of Dallas for the past 10 years where she lives with her husband and 5 kids. She is also fortunate to live minutes from both sets of grandparents, who help her family daily. “I am blessed with an amazing support system who allow me to work and keep my kids involved in activities.”

Dr. Mathew enjoys community service work and served on the Richardson ISD Covid Medical Taskforce, a group of physician parents who helped provide medical facts and science-based advice to help board members make decisions during the COVID pandemic. As a family, they volunteer with various projects, including Project Finding Calcutta, making food for the unhoused and spending time with older adults in retirement homes.

In her free time, she loves to bake, read, travel and volunteer. She also encourages her kids to develop their interests in a variety of things from sports to art and music. “We are a big sports family, and although I have my Denver allegiance, my husband has made me quite the Mavs and Cowboys fan.”
