Kelli Lyn Freeman, AuD $$

Kelli Freeman, Au.D., is a clinical audiologist with Children’s Health℠. She cares for children of all ages who experience hearing loss and balance disorders.

Audiologists specialize in providing diagnostic, rehabilitative and other services for conditions that affect hearing and balance. They use tests to diagnose and treat these problems using techniques such as hearing aids, balance therapy or hearing rehabilitation. They also work closely with ear, nose and throat physicians (otolaryngologists) to care for the medical causes of hearing problems.

Dr. Freeman earned a Doctor of Audiology degree from Northwestern University in 2016. Her capstone project was titled: Degree of Audibility and Joint Attention Skills in Pre- and Post-Implanted Toddlers. In 2010, she earned a Bachelor of Science in communication sciences and disorders, with a concentration in audiology, from the University of Texas at Austin.

At Children’s Health, Dr. Freeman works with young patients through the Pediatric Audiology and Pediatric Ear, Nose and Throat departments.

To evaluate and treat children who have hearing and balance disorders, she uses a variety of techniques, including pediatric acoustic reflex  auditory brainstem response, conditioned play audiometry, otoacoustic emissions and visual reinforcement audiometry.

Dr. Freeman also serves as a faculty associate with UT Southwestern.

Her caring spirit is alive outside the hospital too. Dr. Freeman has participated in a medical mission through Faith in Practice, a non-profit organization that works to improve physical, spiritual and economic conditions in Guatemala. She has also volunteered with the “Hearing Peru” campaign, through Vive Peru, a group that helps the disadvantaged in Peruvian communities. And she participated in Chicago Walk4Hearing, an event that brings together and supports people with hearing loss.

Dr. Freeman is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and the Texas Academy of Audiology.
