Biography
Gregory Sonnen, M.D., is a Pediatrician at Children’s Health℠. He has special interests in childhood vaccine advocacy, evaluation and management of childhood learning challenges and complex infectious diseases. His care philosophy is to help children build healthy habits, so they grow up to be healthy adults.
“As a pediatrician, you have the sole opportunity of any health care specialty to influence a person’s whole life,” Dr. Sonnen says. “From day one, I strive to provide positive, evidence-based guidance on healthy nutrition, healthy sleep hygiene and appropriate behavioral expectations at each stage of life. If we can start a child on a positive path to a healthy life, science tells us they are likely to continue that pattern as an adult.”
Dr. Sonnen earned his medical degree from Texas A&M and completed his residency in Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine at the Mayo Clinic. He strives to stay on the pulse of new advances in pediatric medicine and uses the latest research to inform his patients’ care.
“I provide the most up-to-date, science-based information on your child’s growth, development and nutrition,” he says. “I am a very strong believer in the positive impact of our routine childhood vaccinations.”
In his spare time, Dr. Sonnen enjoys spending time with his wife and two adult children. He is also involved in a variety of competitive shooting sports.
“As a pediatrician, you have the sole opportunity of any health care specialty to influence a person’s whole life.”
