Biography

Brenna Thomas Holloway, Au.D., is a clinical audiologist with Children’s Health℠. She cares for children of all ages who experience hearing loss and balance disorders.

Audiologists specialize in providing diagnostic, rehabilitative and other services for conditions that affect hearing and balance. They use tests to diagnose and strategies such as hearing aids, balance therapy or hearing rehabilitation for treatment. They also work closely with ear, nose and throat physicians (otolaryngologists) to care for the medical causes of hearing problems.

Dr. Thomas Holloway earned her doctorate in audiology in 2017 from the University of Texas at Dallas.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in communication sciences and disorders in 2013 from the University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated with highest honors. She is certified in audiology through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

At Children’s Health, Dr. Thomas Holloway cares for young patients in the Pediatric Audiology and Pediatric Ear, Nose and Throat departments. She also works with the Pediatric Hearing Aid Team.

To evaluate and treat children who have hearing and balance disorders, she uses a variety of techniques, including pediatric acoustic reflex, conditioned play audiometry, otoacoustic emissions and visual reinforcement audiometry.

To determine the cause of balance and dizziness issues, she uses a wide range of tests, including videonystagmography, electrocochleography, vestibular-evoked myogenic potential, platform posturography, video head impulse testing and rotary chair testing.

Dr. Thomas Holloway is a member of the Texas Academy of Audiology. She has delivered professional presentations on several topics, including “Retrospective Evaluation of School-Issued Hearing Aid Fittings” and “Advances in Hearing Aids and Treating Presbycusis.”

In the community, she enjoys volunteering with events that benefit people with hearing loss, including musical performances in which patrons use assistive technology to hear and enjoy the show.
