Biography
Lauren Gillory, M.D., specializes in pediatric general and thoracic surgery at Children’s Health℠. She is the medical director for Pediatric Trauma at Children’s Health Plano and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at UT Southwestern. Dr. Gillory’s clinical interests include surgical conditions in newborns, such as intestinal atresia, tracheoesophageal fistula and abdominal wall defects. She is also passionate about minimally invasive surgery for children and pediatric injury prevention.
Dr. Gillory earned her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completed her general surgery training at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She completed a research fellowship at The University of Alabama in Birmingham, a surgical critical care fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and a pediatric surgery fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Dr. Gillory is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Pediatric Surgical Association and the Pediatric Trauma Society.
A native Texan, Dr. Gillory enjoys swimming, composting and riding bikes with her husband and their three sons.
