Prospective evaluation of the use of imaging and computational tools to improve risk stratification in children with bone cancer
Study ID: STU 122015-025
Summary
This is a prospective study that merges digital pathology images to digital images from magnetic resonance imaging (MRi) to develop image pattern recognition software to predict tumor necrosis from MRi (digital correlation of MRi (DCor-MRi)). if the software is successful, we will potentially be in a position to predict tumor response by MRi much earlier than already possible. newly diagnosed patients will consent to having additional MRi sequences performed while undergoing standard MRi studies at week 10 of pre-operative therapy. Subjects will also have research-based MRi performed after 5 weeks of pre-operative chemotherapy. evaluation for necrosis will be performed as per standard of care compared with evaluation for tumor necrosis by necrosis-Digital analysis Software.
