Children’s Health℠ partners with Mend; first in a series of investments that will modernize health care in Texas and across the U.S.

Dallas-based health system leads sustainable energy efforts among pediatric health systems in the U.S. and all health care providers in Texas 

DALLAS – Children’s Health℠, the leading pediatric health care system in North Texas, today announced it has signed an agreement with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to administer the new State of Texas Access Reform (STAR) Kids program. Beginning in the Fall of 2016, Children’s Health, under the Children’s Medical Center Health Plan (CMCHP), will operate a Medicaid managed care program specifically serving youth and children (age 20 or younger) who are enrolled in disability-related Medicaid, including Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Medicaid or are enrolled in the Medically Dependent Children Program (MDCP).

Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics in Tyler, Texas, has become the first hospital system to link its neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with expert UT Southwestern neonatologists staffing the innovative Children’s Medical Center TeleNICU program, the two hospitals announced today. The new telemedicine program enables physicians to collaborate on diagnosis and care for the tiniest, most seriously-ill babies, and it’s already helping to save precious lives.
